This is one of your best video’s and I agree with everything you said 110%! If anyone out there has not done both, e-mail, calls and hard copies give it a try and you will get quality walk-through vs. quantity.

I love the videos and this one has great advice. I am very new in business and have a very limited marketing budget. I was waondering what you though about going and making cold calls in person. I want to personable, get my name out there but have little to no real advertising budget.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your note! You’ve asked a good question – in fact, it’s one of the biggest challenges small cleaning businesses face.

However, while the complete answer would take more time and more room than we have here, I’ll offer the following ideas to consider as a starting point:

One of the keys to effective marketing is having something important to say to your prospective clients -we call these compelling messages MGPs or Measurable Guarantees of Performance.

After developing a one or more of these powerful messages, the goal is to regularly communicate these powerful messages with your targeted prospects.

And, while it may not me the most effective method, if you plan on cold calling your prospects directly, I believe it is your powerful marketing messages that you want to share with them when you call to introduce yourself.

In our book, emails and videos, we try to explain what we believe to be the most effective way for cleaning businesses to grow quickly and profitably. For example, here are a few of the steps we suggest:

    1/ identifying the decision maker(s),

2/ creating a set of dramatic differences/comparative advantages (we call them Measurable Guarantees of Performance)of doing business with you vs. your competition and then finally,

3/ crafting and consistently delivering those compelling messages based on the MGPs to your target market on a regular, scheduled basis by methods such as a pre-set series of sales letters, surveys, brochures consumer awareness reports – as well as securing permission to communicate online via a opt-in

We have other resources on our site that answer many of the questions we hear most often from our members – or you can contact our office directly at 888-531-4878 M-F 10 AM – 6 PM EST to find out more about the books, tools and coaching programs we offer.

Hope that helps and wishing you much success in your cleaning business,
    Dan
