Dan Liebrecht, Co-Founder of Clean Guru LLC, recently published an article for commercial cleaning and janitorial businesses, discussing how to prepare a cleaning bid or cleaning proposal.
Toledo, OH – June 18, 2010 – Dan Liebrecht is a co-founder of CleanGuru™ LLC, and co-creator of a revolutionary online janitorial bidding software program called CleanBid®. Dan regularly publishes helpful videos, blogs and articles for cleaning businesses and those just starting a cleaning or janitorial business.
In Dan’s latest article, he takes on a common janitorial bidding question among cleaning businesses. The article, titled “How To Prepare a Cleaning Bid,” touches on several important issues that janitorial businesses face when preparing a cleaning proposal. Dan examines the importance of two areas – the outline used and the message sent in a cleaning bid.
Dan writes, “Any professional cleaning bid or janitorial proposal should cover a variety of important topics. These topics should be organized into a logical order so the building owner or property manager can quickly and easily get clear answers to their basic questions.” These topics, Dan writes, should include qualifications, invoicing, supplies, equipment, insurance information and reference lists, among others.
“Your cleaning bid should follow standard formats building owners, property managers and purchasing agents look for when sizing up the professionalism of service contractors. For example, customized cover pages and cover letters provide unique opportunities to demonstrate your attention to details about the company you are bidding on,” offered Liebrecht.
Another main point of the article is how to present a “message” with each cleaning proposal. Dan argues that the message you send to your prospective janitorial customer is even more important than the layout of the proposal.
Dan writes, “From the cover letter to the last section of the proposal, you are sending a message whether you know it or not. That message is what creates or destroys their interest in you and your cleaning business. It is a big opportunity. It is a big responsibility. You want to be sure you’re sending the right message.” Dan goes on to explain what kind of message a cleaning business should be sending with each janitorial proposal.
