Janitorial Business Owners: What Makes Prospects CRAZY?Do you know what makes your prospects totally frustrated; in other words – crazy? When’s the last time you took a few minutes to think about what their biggest headaches are about dealing with cleaning contractors? If it’s been a while, or you’ve never done it – it’s worth doing. Here’s why. The answers hold the key to re-inventing your cleaning business -and that’s the key to getting prospects to want YOU. It’s true – first, identifying what makes them the most upset about cleaning contractors and then, second, creating ways to fix those frustrations – is, as the poet, Robert Frost would say, the ‘road NOT taken’. But, that road is the one that leads to satisfaction for clients – and more business for you. Let’s take a quick look. What if one of the biggest frustrations your prospects have about janitorial companies is they promise one thing, but deliver a lot less. What could you do to ensure they’ll receive a high level of service, not only on day 1 – but day 61 and 101 as well? What if another one of their biggest headaches is constantly seeing new ‘faces’ in their building – as one after another of the ‘cleaning crew’ quickly come and, just as quickly, go? High turnover can create a feeling of uncertainty in the minds of your prospects. What can you do to slow or stop the ‘revolving door’ of people in your cleaning business? Not easy, I know – but, if it were – everyone including your competition would have done it already. And, there’s the opportunity – doing what others cannot, or will not, do. The good news is it’s not impossible, and in some cases, it can end up simply being doing something different – not necessarily difficult. As busy as life can be today – it can be difficult to find time or, more accurately, make time, for yourself, to just – think. But, that time – may be the most valuable time you’ll ever spend. As the end of the Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken, says, ‘Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.’
